BarCode Scanners
Legacy Contributor
My company has hired me specifically to handle getting Visual implemented. We are not using the traditional implementation schedule. I'm trying to look down the road and figure out how to make our owner's vision a reality.
The majority of our barcode scanners will be thethered, but I have three employees who are extremely mobile, so I would like to use hand-held barcoders for them. However, I'm told that you have to be near a computer to input the piece count. With today's technology, they make great scanners with "computer screens" and keypads that would work perfectly if the programming exists for these scanners to talk to Visual. Does anyone use these kinds of scanners?

We use the Motorola MC9190's. You will have to run Ataman TCP for telnet to interface with Visual, but you can do everything from the scanner without having to input any information into a computer. The software is pretty cut and dry......

Hi Brian,
what software are you using for your Barcode needs?
Also Terri, did you find another solution to this problem?
