We have submitted ER 113431 to allow functional users to resolve EDI Work Queue issues without have to learn EDI syntax, or involve a technical user to assist with corrections requiring changes to the raw data. Currently, EDI Work Queue issues that require editing the raw EDI data often require a functional user (e.g. Buyer) and a technical user to combine efforts to resolve. The Buyer doesn’t have the technical knowledge to edit the raw data, and the technical user may not have the workflow knowledge, or the Infor rights, to find the correct information to make the necessary edits to the raw data.
We suggest adding the ability to toggle the Data Exchange interface between the current raw EDI display, and a form/list combination with a similar look and feel to the user interface that corresponds to the EDI document’s purpose.
For example, the new Data Exchange user interface for an 810 would look like Manage invoices, and the interface for an 855/856 would look like Manage Purchase Orders. These new Data Exchange GUIs, instead of updating the associated business classes, would update the raw EDI data and submit it for re-processing once the user saves the changes.
This enhancement would allow functional users, who have the best knowledge for resolving EDI Work Queue issues, to correct and resolve problems without having to engage technical resources.
