Report Designer column widths

Does anyone have tips for GL report designer on how to get the column widths the way they need them.  I have a row column that needs to be wider and I have changed to many different widths and changed the indents and it doesn't seem to change how it looks.

When you are setting a width in Row columns, there is a field called Column Size. That is where you define the number of characters needed for the width of the Row column. You would either increase or decrease the character size of this column when the data shown in the Row column is either cut off or showing too much space when the Code and/or Description is selected. So if the account and the description is being cut off in the report, you would increase the size of that column until all characters show in the Row. The Column Size entered applies to the Dimension selected in that Row. 

There is another field called offset below this one in the Row Dimension that allows an offset of extra characters between Row columns. If a numeric character is added here, there is an extra padding shown in the report between rows on the left side of the Dimension this option is applied to.
