SMS Texting from IPA?

If anyone is currently sending SMS texts, or has the need to send SMS texts from IPA, I would be interested in speaking with you. We are currently gathering user interest, requirements, etc. on this feature. Please send me a private message on this board.

not sure about SMS; but if you know the phone number and provider use the email node and the provider's format - AT&T is areacode-phone-number@txt.att.net, 5558675309@txt.att.net or Verizon is 5558675309@vtext.com.

Thanks Ray. Unfortunately the problem we are trying to address is when our email relay goes down we need an alternative to email to notify us we have an email issue.

I saw that the more recent IPA designer has a node for SMS. We are still back at 10.1.1.39 and only have the email node.

Hi everyone. The SMS node in Infor IPA Designer first became available in the 11.0.1 release of Landmark/IPA. You can see an announcement last May in this blog post: http://blogs.infor.com/technology/2016/05/infor-process-automation-11-whats-new/

The node works by sending an API call to Twilio . Twilio is am SMS gateway service. There is a charge to use this service but it is very reasonable. In IPA you specify the # to send to and the message to send. The message can include IPA variables.

As said earlier in this thread it is a great alternative to notifying employees via email.

And if they don't work check with the provider. Company mergers and ownership are always changing.
