Summary:
In Mingle, we used a setting in M3 to auto-switch to homepages. This means when the user exits all programs in M3, they are automatically switched to their homepage where they can use a bookmark or a menu to launch another program (often to M3). The users have been trained to use the homepage as their starting point. We understood that the homepage being the launching point for daily work was Infor's strategy.
In OS Portal, the auto-switch to homepages setting is no longer available in user settings. When a user exits all programs in M3, they are left on the M3 favorites and recent page. They are not sent back on their homepage (now called workspace). They must click on the desired workspace to get back to their page with bookmarks and menus. This adds another click each time they follow this process.
Proposed Solution:
It seems that the "auto-switch to homepages" setting should be replaced with an "auto-switch to home" setting in OS Portal. This would cause OS Portal to flip from M3 to the selected home workspace when exiting the last program in M3.
