Line Type 1 Customer Order

For a line type 1 purchase order, is there a way of passing customer order text / data to the corresponding purchase order that was generated?

Some of our customers have specific requirements around packaging of our product and we would like our suppliers to do some of this effort for us. Can we have a text block that is entered on the customer order carry over to the purchase order so we can let the supplier know what work we need them to do?

Have you tried Attributes? I'm not sure about the length of the text you need to pass but guess this might help.

That's what the Doc Class selections in CRS027 drive. Ex., if you add Post-Text Line notes to a type 1 or 2 line, the Doc Class you select will determine whether that same text is passed over to the connected PO document.

Thanks for the tip. That is useful to know. Is it possible to default the pre / post text? The text is pretty much the same each time for a specific customer. We are are a fashion installation so have multiple lines per CO

Might depend on your M3 version and skillset. You could create a custom section for your PO document that pulls in a text block stored in CRS610/OIS002/OIS005 (if needed at customer, customer/address, or customer/item level). For example, if I create a text block named "SUPPLYSPEC" on Customer ABC, the PO doc could find and apply that as post-text based on the CUNO of the ORNO found in the RORN field of the PO line. Your users would not have visibility of these notes from the order entry screens, but there are ways around that, too.

Following on from this and the great suggestions from Gehan and Jeremy - is it possible to change the PO that the CO is allocated to. Our use case is that Supplier A may not have enough capacity so we need to switch to Supplier B.

I don't think it is possible to change the supplier on a PO so we would cancel the old PO and create a new one. Not sure how we can connect the CO to this new PO

Not possible with line types (unless the PO is still planned) but maybe possible with supply chain policies? I think those are a bit more flexible in allowing policies to be broken and reconnected via preallocation. Still, sounds like an admin nightmare to get it done.
