** AUTO ** reference in ih_doc field in ihead
unknown
We have a lot of customers with this issue, and everyone of them uses SPM. Looks like quotes generated also have the ** AUTO ** reference.
This has knock on effect when progressing invoices to credit notes, if the client doesnt notice the credit notes end up on the wrong account.
I logged with Pegasus. They initially said it was environmental and have never been able to reproduce and cannot fix it, but because of the volume of customers who are affected, they are working with development to try and pinpoint or write something to capture it.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and managed to identify the cause?

We (i.e. our direct sites in Ireland) had a spate of this last year, none of the sites involved had SPM. I thought it had been sorted out in recent versions

Yes we have had this on about 4 sites, where all of a sudden, the client raises a cr note & it appears on a different account. We investigate & its because the document has been assigned a **AUTO** number & not a true DOCxxxxx no.
Every document starts off with **AUTO** & the repsonse from Pegasus is the same, its environment & there must have been a glitch on the network, causing a problem writing to the tables. Contact your IT Company etc. The trouble is, we're the hardware/network company as well as the software provider & where do you start with that?
Cabling is fine, network cards are fine, server is relatively new & it would be impractical to start swapping every component involved with a network.
Our response was that Opera should be able to handle a small "glitch" in the network better, or at elast some sort of a warning should appear.
We have had this on sites before SPM was available. 2 of the sites now have SPM, 2 dont.
To fix this, we move the DOC no on, in SOP set Options, then in IHEAD & ITRAN, we replace the **AUTO** with the DOC number that hasn’t been used.
To be honest, we haven’t had this in at least 6 months, but prior to that we just had to "live with it"

Good morning James et. al.
We will be looking into the **auto** issue in more detail very soon. We have seen a couple of instances of this recently and will be running some tests to see if we can find any common themes here.
We will of course keep you updated.
Regards
Ben
