Creating AUDIT Records Externally from F/M's
Legacy Contributor
Good Morning Everyone:
A client of mine whom has their own internal development staff would like an interface to the 7.7 and higher Audit Files that could be used outside of F/M's and programmatically. Such as when the customer on hold flag is changed programmatically, have it update the Audit Files for who and when as I do not think it stores what program was executed when changing the values on a specific row/record.
My initial thoughts were to create a method within a globally instantiated class that you can pass the file name, its string template, original record, and updated record so that it could review each value programmatically and then if a change existed, it would mimic the routines in SMF999 for SMFAUH and SMFAUL.
Has anyone gone through the time of actually creating an interface like this and if so anything stick out in your mind that I should look out for and make sure exists in the code and/or if you are being generous be willing to share.
Thanks Again!
