Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out to learn more about how other manufacturers are using Job Operations and Operation Moves in Infor Syteline / CloudSuite Industrial.
In our current workflow, we handle job transactions and final job receipts, but we don’t actively use the Operation Moves part of the process. I suspect this is creating gaps in how we track WIP progress and ensure quantities are accurate at each operation.
I would really appreciate it if you could share:
- How your team reports production progress between operations using forms such as Post Job Operations, Complete Job Operations, and Unposted Job Operations.
- Whether you use Operation Move transactions consistently, and at what frequency (e.g., daily, per shift, per lot)
- Any best practices you’ve developed to avoid errors like “Received will be greater than Available” during final job receipts
- How you train operators or supervisors to perform Move transactions, and whether you automate any parts of it (e.g., backflushing moves)
- Any pitfalls or lessons learned in rolling this out
We are an industrial manufacturing company and I’m trying to understand how to best integrate this step into our production reporting and costing flow.
Any insights, examples, or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for your time and help!
Jesus
