One of our recruiters asked what the difference is selecting cancel or close for an open requisition. I thought if she chose ‘cancel’ it would then send to correct disposition workflow step “Requisition Cancelled” to send out correct email to candidate. But I discovered in testing both “close” and “cancel” both route the candidates to the first disposition workflow step “No Interview” in our hiring workflow. For the candidates to receive requisition cancellation email, recruiter has to disposition all candidates and move to correct workflow step. Then either close or cancel the requisition. Of course, I can move the ’req cancelled’ step up in workflow but then ‘close’ will send there too. Is there a way to route ‘close’ and ‘cancel’ actions to correct step? If not, once all candidates are dispositioned, does it matter if requisition is closed or cancelled?
