Penn State Health is moving payroll from single tenant cloud S3 to multi-tenant cloud GHR/HRT. Currently, we are hybrid, Payroll is S3 ST and all other employee maintenance is in GHR MT.
Two decisions that are affecting our test payroll process:
- Moving from two payment schedules to one (new) payment schedule to accommodate running only one biweekly payroll process instead of two.
- Moving from Chart of Accounts/Accounting Unit to financial dimensions, Finance Enterprise Group (FEG).
We are currently working in a lower test environment testing the HRT payroll process. We updated positions with the new payment schedule and FEG effective the beginning of the pay period we were going to process for testing. For production, the planned effective date was going to be the pay period date for the go live. When testing the payroll process, we ran into some problems trying to process retro pay adjustments for pay periods prior to the effective date the positions/work assignments were updated and prior to the payroll period being processed.
We are not importing any payroll history from S3.
For those customers who have made the transition from S3 payroll to MT HRT Payroll, how are retro pay adjustments that are dated prior to HRT payroll implementation handled when pertinent data has been updated on positions/work assigments?
