Is anyone using the EPM Dashboard and have:
1. A fiscal year different from the calendar year and how did you workaround this?
2. Year-to-date values and a workaround to get monthly values for the Dashboard?
Which dashboards are you using? Infor Delivered or Custom? If the former, which ones specifically (Financial Reporting, Self Service, ect)?
It all depends on the cubes youre using and how the Calendar dimension was built. Typically, the non-calendar Fiscal Year dimension would be built using Periods not Months so as to account for this exact scenario.
If you are using FSM and the GLTOT cube, the Calendar dimension has separate hierarchies for MTD, YTD and LTD, so you just need to make sure youve selected the desired heirarchies.
Hello Matthew, thank you very much for your quick response! We are using the SelfService and dashboard that is integrated into the Infor Reporting Application. The cubes we use are almost all created by ourselves. In the Period dimension, we could add the monthly values as a hierarchy alongside the YTD values – that would be an idea for our problem No. 2. :)
ok, if they are custom cubes I would recommend you solve the issue at the cube architecture level.
A good calendar hierarchy architecture would look something like this:
YTD Calendar
2026
Quarter 1
Period 1
Beginning Balance
Period 2
Period 3
ect…
MTD Calendar
Period 4
You can add all the attributes you need like actual starting or ending dates, month name, month number and so on as attributes for reference on the report.
Then when you need YTD amounts you take [Calendar).[YTD Calendar].{2026].[Period 11] and you dont have to do the math to add all those periods together. Additionally, when building reports for your users can display the calendar year and month but it will display in order of your Fiscal Calendar.
LTD get a little messy and can lead to performance issues if you arent careful or have a very large data set so I suggest staying away from that unless its an absolute need.
