CIS 5 New Installation - Printing/Preview Crystal Reports

I'm having this error on a new installation of CIS5. I can print list views but cannot preview or print crystal reports.

System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: An error occurred while sending the request. ---> System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 192.168.1.26:31083

The IP address is that of the server and I get this error even on the server!

Has anyone had this issue before?

Hiya James

Can you un-install CIS version 4 and then re-install it along side CIS5.

I think this is how I resolved it.

Hi James,

I would start by double checking the server installation prerequisites (i.e. Micorsoft .NET Windows Server Hosting). Make sure your versions are correct.

Hi James

On CIS v5.03 they introduced a Report Server.

Make sure that it got installed as part of the installation/upgrade.

After an upgrade to this version a site was unable to print until after a server reboot.

I made some notes on it, that you may find useful, which I have attached here.

I had some similar issues after upgrading one of our customers from v5.02.02 to v5.03.00. They were able to print list views but no other reports.

The error message they received was slightly different — "IIS 10.0 Detailed Error - 500.19 - Internal Server Error."

We were unable to resolve the issue and eventually ended up doing a full server move, and we’re still none the wiser as to what the underlying problem was. Initially, we suspected a hardware issue because we couldn’t modify any Windows features in the catalogue without it erroring, but I’m now starting to think that may not have been the root cause after all.

The current status is that it relates to the CIS 5 version 5.03.00 change with the reporting website running on the server. The clients no longer have any components relating to Crystal reporting.

I followed instructions from a similar issue my colleague, Len, had and stepped through his notes.

My issue is that I've installed the application, administration website and reporting aspects of the installation, leaving the two other new features relating to website and timesheet links.

The Crystal Reports XI Runtime Files are not installing and so I have the error below.

I have run a repair of the installation and restarted the server but that component isn't in the list of programs still.

I've got an open case with Pegasus and they are going to developers to confirm the correct installer for this pre-requisite to see if I can't install this separate to the server installation, which doesn't appear to be installing what's necessary.

Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient, or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly. Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) containing the correct version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium) required.

I don't believe the last time I ran the repair that someone was out and it prompted a server restart may be necessary.

I have prevented log ins and running the installer again and I can see it mention the Crystal report component.

Shall check if it states a restart is neccessary and if there is still an issue I'll review removing CIS 4.
