Printing to Epson 890 dot matrix Printers from Opera 3

Hi All,
I have recently upgraded Opera II to Opera 3 on a clients site and i am having problems with the doc design. We are printing to Epsons 890 and the print appears very small up in the right hand corner of the design. I have tried changing the fonts and also the pitch on the printers but nothing appears to be changing the size or layout of the invoice design. If anyone has come accross this, i would appreciate the help.

Find the CONFIG.FPW file in the O3 Client VPF folder

Change to the following :

ENGINEBEHAVIOR=90
REPORTBEHAVIOR=80

be aware that config.fpw gets overwritten by running client setup so would need to be editted again following an upgrade.
Assume you've checked the font settings on the invoice design in opera. if its text design and courier should find all the text is small otherwise just change the right hand corner to the same font and size as the rest of the design.

Please note that Opera 3 - Version 1.50 will have its own area for altering these settings within Adminstration preferences for easy changes toe the CONFIG.FPW file. There will be no need to go behind the sceens to alter the settings as it can all be done within Opera 3 V1.50.00 preferences settings.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but discovered a useful fix I couldn't find documented elsewhere.

If you only have a few reports which need a dot matrix printer, but want to retain O3 print engine for the majority you can put REPORTBEHAVIOR=80 in the User Data field on the Report Properties.Other tab. this shows up on my dev machine in O3 client and VFP9, but not on my end users machine in O3, so may need VFP to do.
