Please Review and Endorse Enhancement 111176 - Reporting Abilities within IDM

We have an enhancement that has been entered for 20+ months and we are looking for endorsements. This endorsement is specific to IDM and reporting. We are asking for the ability to report on data elements within IDM. In some cases, users are scanning or storing documents directly in IDM that are not in FSM, and we need to export/report on these key fields.

Can you provide some more context on what you're trying to accomplish. I read your ER, but I'm not sure I follow.

Are you wanting to export IDM attributes for a given document type? There are some ways to accomplish that either with the IDM Utility or by API calls.

Or are you trying to reconcile that FSM records have an associated IDM attachment?

I need a report that looks like a list view or Excel etc. in where I can query out on document types, and all the attributes populated. So for example, if I am looking for an Invoice, I should be able to query out the Invoice field, Date, Vendor #, create date, on the IDM record. This all gets populated and filled in. See the screen shot of Attributes that CAN be populated. And this is only for one document type. So I would want a report where I can run and see all these data points. Not all documents are entered through FSM, they are entered into IDM directly, thus causing the need for IDM reporting.

Is is possible to query based on compound attribute data, but it sounds like you want to be able to see the attribute data in the Search results for the documents you've search for ? Am I right?

The Detail view of the search results only includes Title, Document Type, Created By Created Date, Modified Date.

It would be nice to be able to customize that list view, but I don't think that's possible. There just the three view options: Details, Card, Thumbnails.

As an alternative, you can use the "items/search" IDM API endpoint to pull attribute data for documents. The response can be either XML or JSON.

If you want attribute data in a CSV format, you could pull the attribute JSON/XML in an IPA flow, convert it to CSV using JS, and then write the output to a PfiFileStorage record or ReportDocument. If you want to be able to run it dynamically, e.g. select different documents, you would need to include a trigger variable to store the desired XQuery to be used for each run.

Another alternative would be to ingest the attribute data into the Data Lake, and create a BIRST report based on that data.
