As you begin your journey with Infor, you’ll likely hear frequent reference to two important platforms: Infor CloudSuite and Infor Concierge.
They are both important, but they are used for different reasons.
A simple way to think about it is this:
Infor CloudSuite is where your business work happens. Infor Concierge is where you manage your support and customer resources with Infor.
Let’s break it down.
What is Infor CloudSuite?
Infor CloudSuite is your cloud-based Infor solution; it operates on the Infor OS (Technology Platform). Depending on what your company purchased, this may include applications for areas such as finance, operations, manufacturing, distribution, human capital management, supply chain, or other business processes.
This is the place your team will use to do day-to-day work once your solution is implemented.
You may use Infor CloudSuite to:
- Access your Infor applications
- Work in your assigned environment
- Complete business transactions or daily tasks
- Test processes during implementation
- Support your team’s go-live and ongoing operations
In short: Infor CloudSuite is the system your users will work in.
What is Infor Concierge?
Infor Concierge is your customer support and resource portal.
This is where your organization can manage many of the support-related activities connected to your Infor account. It is especially useful for administrators, project leads, IT contacts, and anyone responsible for coordinating with Infor.
You may use Infor Concierge to:
- Access Infor Customer Portal to manage Cases.
- Search the knowledge base
- Access important customer resources
- Find links to documentation and training
- Manage certain customer contact information
- Access other Infor tools, including the CloudSuite Self-Service Portal, when applicable
In short, Infor Concierge helps you manage your relationship with Infor and find support when you need it.
What is the Infor Customer Portal?
The Infor Customer Portal is the primary place where customers can submit, update, and track the status of support cases with Infor. While it is closely connected to Infor Concierge and supports single sign-on (SSO), it serves a more specific purpose.
Think of it this way:
- Infor Concierge is the broader customer portal that provides access to support resources, knowledge articles, documentation, training, and other customer tools.
- Infor Customer Portal is focused on case management and support interactions.
Depending on your role and permissions, you may use the Infor Customer Portal to:
- Create new support cases
- Review existing cases
- Update case details
- Communicate with Infor Support regarding open issues
- Monitor case progress and status changes
- Review case history and related support activity
Because of the SSO integration, moving between Concierge and the Customer Portal is typically seamless. However, it is helpful to understand the distinction:
- Infor Concierge = customer resources, support tools, documentation, and access to related services
- Infor Customer Portal = support case submission, updates, and case tracking
CloudSuite Self-Service Portal
You may also hear about the CloudSuite Self-Service Portal, sometimes called CSSP.
This is different from your Infor CloudSuite business application. CSSP is an administrative tool that can be accessed through Infor Concierge and is designed to help authorized customer administrators manage certain CloudSuite-related services and environments.
Depending on your organization's products, permissions, and setup, CSSP may be used to:
- View the status and availability of your CloudSuite products and environments
- Access URLs for your provisioned environments and services
- Enable and manage SMS alerts and notifications
- Personalize or manage certain environment URLs when available
- Generate or review audit-related reports
- Request or perform environment refresh activities where supported
- Access environment and service information from a centralized location
Why does this matter during onboarding?
During onboarding, knowing where to go can save time and reduce confusion.
If your question is about using the application itself, your Infor CloudSuite environment is usually the right place to start.
If your question is about support, documentation, access, cases, or customer resources, Infor Concierge is usually the right place to go.
And if you are a Primary Admin, you will use both regularly.
Simple takeaway
Infor CloudSuite = your business application environment
Infor Concierge = your customer support and resource portal
CloudSuite Self-Service Portal (CSSP) = an administrative tool accessed through Infor Concierge for managing certain CloudSuite environments, services, and related administrative tasks
All of them are part of your Infor cloud journey, but each one has a different purpose.
