storing vendor account #s

Where do you store your account #s with vendors? For most vendors, you'll have a main account #, ship to account #s, and possibly another bill to account #.
Where do you store each of these? I'm assuming AP10/10.2, but I'm not sure where we'd store the bill to account # then.

We write them in the User Fields on PO10. they do not print on the PO but they are there for our reference.

We created a table in ED40 utilizing the vendor number, ship to and account number, that way we can reference ED40 to grab the correct account number onto the PO and Purchasing can look up the accounts in a custom ZD40 screen. I am attaching screen shots.

We are having discussions on this as well. Currently we are using the user fields in PO10.2. Present state we are in V10 and will be moving to CSF V11 within the next year. As part of a purchase from consolidation project we are re-evaluating the best location to store vendor account #'s.

Infor's one size approach of one account to one purchase from does not work majority of the time if you have one purchase from linked up to multiple locations.

Where does everyone else store their vendor account #'s?

We have PO10.2 and ED40 - I put in an enhancement request for the ED40 solution - because to me - no matter what you've done to solve this - we all know how to build the ED40.

It's ER - 41102 if anyone's interested.

In Cloudsuite if the state of affairs is unchanged - I'm grabbing that config module and I am making fields on PO10.2 to give me an option to store per IC02.

That and a confirmation field on Purchase Order Header are my big "How do you not have this" things for PO. Report wise it's still baffling to me there's no such thing as Vendor Item Usage reports.

We store these accounts in AP10.2. This is where the system looks for the account number to print/display on POs that are printed, faxed or emailed. A location code is built for every location that orders from that vendor. We have 7 medical centers plus a home care warehouse so we could have up to 8 location codes for a single division vendor. In the case of a vendor that has multiple divisions such as Abbott, the number of location codes can grow quite large. The buyers have access to the contact tab in AP10.2 built into their security so they can add/update the account numbers as needed. If the location code doesn't exist AP has to build the record and the request is initiated by the buyers via an online form.

This answer is only for the AP system: Vendor number is a key field for the vendor master, APVENMAST [Unix/Windows names used for this post.] (The first key field is not Company, it's VENDOR-GROUP. Company is not part of the Vendor Master structure.) But the address of the company is tied to the concept of Locations. The APVENADDR holds each 'location'. The first, default location is <blank>. All vendors have a <blank> record. Every other location added for that vendor has a non-blank value for the LOCATION-CODE. So when I need to produce a list of vendors and locations, it's done by walking down the APVENMAST listing, with every APVENADDR location for each vendor. So for example, vendor 12345 may have no locations, so it has an APVENADDR record of <blank> only; vendor 12346 may have locations <blank> (default, primary address); then, "REM", "123", "HART" for 3 more locations. Total of 4 locations for Vendor 12346.

We use the same numbers for all, but the Location codes are used to differentiate between addresses, for ship-to and I think bill-to as well. (Any error in understanding is my own, after many years I am still learning!)
