Use of PDA's for capturing digital signatures for proof of delivery purposes

Has anyone ever used a PDA or some other kind of digital signature tool to capture a signature for proof of delivery purposes as part of the shipping entry program from Visual 6.5.2?

I am told it is possible (it always is - at cost) but just wondering whether anyone has ever had any experience of attempting or doing this?
