Document Management freezes when capturing

I've started getting Document Management freezing on a 2008r2 terminal server when capturing a new document at the message "Launching Document Capture, please wait...". If you try to close the message you receive the Windows message "This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose 'switch To' to activate the busy program and correct the problem." The only way to close document management capture is to 'End Task'. The only way to resolve the issue is to restart the terminal server, but then a few days later the problem re-occurs.
Opera version 7.44.10, PDM version 3.00.60.
The software is working normally on another terminal server (2003) and the main server (2008r2).
A flash player update was installed the day before this started happening.
Any ideas or assistance regarding this would be much appreciated

Simon,
could be a red herring but we had this at a site where the printer dialog was behind and under the docman window. try switching windows and see if its waiting for you to select the scanner or something.
