Pack Build for Epic
Legacy Contributor
Hi,
We are currently in the process of interfacing our Lawson program with our Epic programs for supplies, mostly in regards to product listings, charge codes and our patient price or charge price.
What we are struggling with is how to consider packs. In lawson, we haven't found a suitable way to expand the packs to show all items tied to one item number. Is there anyone that has experience with using lawson to provide product, charging and pricing info to Epic programs? If so, what process have you put in place to address the "exlplosion" of packs within Epic?
Let me know if you need more information or need clarification on what we are looking for.
Thanks,
John

John,
I'm replying to this (older) post in case an answer ever surfaces. This is an ongoing challenge specifically as we try (unsuccessfully) to land on a plan for bar code support in Epic. The vision is scan-ability in Epic that will reference a Lawson item number - with GTIN, multiple UOMs, HL7 format not yet agreed to and manufacturers participation in providing the data it's a battle, but will be so worth it some day!
