forcing MRP window to use my leadtime when creating planned orders

I am not sure why MRP plans work orders for a longer period of time than what my lead time is. besides firming up all planned orders, is there any way to adjust these dates (release and due) to mirror my lead times? or is there something I am over looking to have the system do the work for me? I don't want to do the route of firming up all planned because it will be too much to continue to massage and maintain because a lot of my customer orders are on LTA's going out 1-4 years. this stretching of the suggested release dates on the planned orders is giving my false material requirements for sub assemblies and raw materials. I am running 7.1.2.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this?

It could be due to efficiency percentages added to Shop Resource Groups?



Try looking in Shop Resource Maintenance, Edit, Shop Groups.

Select all groups containing the resource that's misbehaving.



You might find someone has added an efficiency percentage.

The Scheduling Window then calculates duration based upon that efficiency percentage.



At least, that is, until you Drag-and Drop the Operation.

Once you do this, I think it recalculates at 100%.



I take it you've no Scheduling calendar exceptions that could be elongating the duration (E.G. for Bank Holidays)?
