Demand linking to part

I am trying to figure out how I can set a demand to a work order. I want to be able to see in the Firm/Release window the parts that came from the same demand and have not been albe to see what can link down to this. Does anyone know how to do this with either a macro or with workflow. When I create the work orders, I want to assign a diffrent WO number based on the demand.

This would have to be a macro.

But, can you give more detail regarding this about how you are creating the demand (i.e. are you trying to "split up" the demand from one order to multiple work orders?), why are you trying to do this? etc. and we can give you more detailed assistance.
