Number of lines on a purchase order

I am looking for suggestions or guidance. Our Supply Chain supervisor want to start creating purchase orders with no maximum line limit to eliminate multiple purchase orders being created for larger orders. This is specific to Medline.

I would like feedback as to how many lines other companies are using for their purchase orders. We are also contracted with GHX, which will create another nightmare in my opinion.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do not know the maximum lines, but we have used up to 100 lines. We use excel lawson add-ins to upload the lines.
