Can you describe the problem a little bit more in detail? Are you trying to email a report? When yes, which report, and what version of Visual are you using?

I want to email RFQ and PO's I set it up the way they described I can't pull my contacts in the mail window. and when I enter it in manually it still emails it as a vmx file extension

How do you send the email?
- Do you select "email" in the Visual print screen? I think Visual uses the MAPI interface from Microsoft. In this case you want to make sure MS Outlook is correctly installed on your computer. The document will be in a RTF format and the results are usually not very good.
- Or do you select "print" and have a PDF converter like Adobe Acrobat Distiller installed on your computer? This works better than the email feature in Visual. In this case you might want to make sure it works with other programs or re-install your converter.

If you are getting .vmx files as an attachment, is it possible you are doing a "Send To"? This applications is for internal use only as it give the person receiving the email a quick link to the exact record you are looking at within Visual. The icon is a little envelope on the toolbar.

I have adobe distiller 7 installed and the output file goes to a directory in my documents. the one the MAPI is suposed to delete and replace with the latest.
When I hit the mail Icon it sends it in a VMX file.

I believe you will need at least Actobat Pro instaled if you want to generate PDFs using Adobe - we print reports in PDF out of Visual also, but we use Pro 8. Our vendor partner uses PrimoPDF, more or less a stripped down PDF generator that will work similarly as Acrobat with Visual (or any other application). Not sure of the cost, but much cheaper than Acrobat.
Also, Jmarchie is right regarding the built-in email functionality - you will need to 'print' the report to Adobe PDF and then manually attach it to an email.
