Implementing Part Lot/Trace

We are considering implementing the Lot/Part Trace function in Visual 7.0. I am trying to gather opinions and suggestions from companies who have used it. I have seen instances in the past where there were complaints about the trace function causing process/transaction delays. We have only a handful of parts that we are considering this for so wondering if it is worth the effort.
I was also concerned that lot trace may cause issues with our upcoming quality module implementation.

We are on version 7.0 and have used the lot trace module for many years. We love it. We have over 7000 parts that we trace and we use the module every day. It does take a little more effort to enter trace data and to select a trace during transactions, but no one has ever complained that it causes delays. We do not use the Quality module so I can't comment on that.
My only issue with it is that once in a while the lot trace records do not match the inventory records. I think we have identified 3 parts in our system with a record conflict. There used to be utilities I could run to resolve this, but they don't seem to work anymore. Infor has determined that these 3 instances are due to a bug and are working on a solution.
