How to enter future pricing information for Parts
denise
We have 7.0 version of Visual. Is it possible, (and then what are the steps) to enter in pricing information for parts that become effective on Jan 1st, 2014. We would like to do this process over the next few months, instead of taking a day or two during the holidays. Thanks

You can do this if you are using customer pricing by Customer ID:
Part Maintenance/Maintain/Customer Pricing
You can add new prices with an effective date.
If you're not using cusotmer pricing you could use the import/export to Excel functionality in Part Maintenance and just import with the new prices updated at the end of the year.

In Part Maintenance enter your part id, then go to Maintain - Customer Pricing. Click Insert, enter the customer ID, and the Effective Date and Discontinue Date if there is one. Then click Save.

Thanks for the quick responses. I should of put that this is for incoming Vendor parts. Does that make a difference, or does Visual utilize the same process for Vendor parts versus customer pricing?

Same concept except you go to Maintain - Vendors Supplying This Part. Add your vendor and other data, save it, and then you can edit the quote and add Effective Dates and Expiration Dates.
