Voided Items - MSCM
Legacy Contributor
We are running into issues with voided items when using the MSCM application. When items are voided, there is no notification on the pick tickets or the delivery tickets, outlining items that were voided. Is anyone aware of a solution or process that woudl allow our materials management departmet to effectively communicate voided items to our end users?
Let me know if anyone needs additional information.
Thanks
John

Jon: I created a daily report that is emailed to the inventory supervisor, of items voided on requisitions for that day. We use the Reporting Services to schedule the daily email of this report. The report was built using SQL and formatted in Crystal.

There is an option on the WH130 that says "Include Kill Details" if you set that flag to Y then it will print what was killed on the pick tickets.

If you have someone who writes Smart Notification alerts, then you could probably use that. I used a Smart Note to go to requesters, when an invoice hit a PO starting from a requisition, and no receipt had been entered into the system. The alert asks the requester if they received the item, and to please notify the receiving dock to receive the line for the po, etc, if it was received.
Just a thought.

John, I agree with Tracy and Vicky. Adding the details to WH130 will give you kill items on the pick tickets. *Note there has to be at least one good pick item to see any voided items.
We currently also use SmartNotes to notify MM if any items are killed by the system or after by the user in WH32.

Thanks for the responses!
We were looking into using the
@H130
report but we are trying to create an automated process so that each night we have an autojob run that runs a report and can then send out emails to each end user who has a req with a voided or "killed" item.
Do you think it's possible to do that using SmartNotes and the WH130 report?
What we are getting ready to test is a SQL script we have written to pull reqs with voided or killed items on it and send an email to the requester. Our script is pulling the information from the REQLINE and REQHEADER tables from lawson. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with using such a process?
Thanks

Jon,
For our Smart Note that asks the requester if they have received their item, since the invoice has been entered, but there is no receipt, I use ReqHeader and Requester ID as part of that infoset. Then I have an infoset that gets the Requester ID and the requester's email from the Lawson RM. Using both of those together in the notification is how the email is sent to the requester. You should be able to do something similar.
