Hello,
We will be migrating from Unix to Windows 2008 with Oracle on the 16 of October.
We have currently some problems to get the windows server printing to work.

We are running ERP LN 6.1 FP5 & PLM 8.2 under MS Windows 2003&2008 with Oracle 11g under Win2K8x64 without printing issues.
ERP LN > Windows 2003 Enterprise x64
PLM > Windows 2003 Std x32
Oracle Std > Windows 2008 Enterprise x64
Infor EPAK > Windows 2008 Ent x64
Windows Active Directory Domain Windows 2008 std
Other application servers >
All running under VMWare vSphere 4
Standalone
LN License & vSphere control Server > Winows 2003 Std x32
What exactly are your issues?
#1 If your going to run Oracle unless it is a huge user base look at Oracle Standard as Enterprise can get very expensive if you need to upgrade CPU's to 2 or more Quad's
#2 Windows AD works great for setting up printers and Infor ERP LN can have physical Windows printers configured, virtual printers, Win generic printers that can print to the screen and then be directed to the Windows printer of choice or use RPT (BIRT) report printers.
If you or staff there are excellent programmers then BIRT may provide a more elegant customer facing document but strong emphasis on the programming as it is an open source product. Not bad but still uses Baan query and report creation tools then exported to BIRT, updated then imported back into LN. I would STRONGLY encourage you to check out Cyberscience Cyberquery for Baan

it is by far the best reporting tool I have seen and would save hours of time. It have a direct hook to load the Baan data dictionary.
What is the issue you are facing?

We are not facing issues at this time. We are doing analysis of moving from unix with infromix and oracle to windows 2008 with ms sql
I was looking for real life experience if there are issues with printing, mail, fax, user load, user authentication.
Most likely we will use AD authentication. We have Optio ecommintegrate for forms creation and may stay with that (since our forms are already in it).
Also, how does MS patching affect the application? Any issues from patches?
We have a global user base, any networking concerns?
