Creating a second Item Master/Warehouse
Legacy Contributor
Wondering if anyone has information on building a second Item Master/ warehouse? We currently are exploring the possibility of creating a warehouse for our HITS department. Thanks, Damian

I've created multiple inventory locations in Lawson but they all share the same item master.

Same here - we build warehouses but not different Item Masters.
The item masters are controlled buy Item Group. I thought we can only have one item master group per company - set on IC01. Are you're talking about creating a second company?

Do you have a document you could share on how you've set up additional warehouses in the past that still use the same item master? Or even a bar bones list of steps?

STEPS New Facility Checklist
1. Create IC02
2. Create IC04
3. Obtain new accounts and add to ED40
4. If Stock Location
a create IC12 records (use IC320 to copy existing)
b create IC142 user. Requester must be IC142[IC02] ex IC142R
c create RQ01 to match IC02.
5 If Non Stock, create RQ01 for any non-stock locations as indicated.
The IC01 for the company will automatically tie the new location to the item group (Item Master).
This is based on our company settings but should give you some screens to look at.
