XRL 1.50, 1.51 - a pain!

Hi,

We're having problems getting XRL to work at a few customer sites. The add-in just won't load regardless of what we try.

I've worked through parts of the attached (bar the domain user test as we can't get that level of access).

Anyone else managed to figure out why the COM keeps failing to load?

First thing I installed ;-)

Forgot to mention they are using Office 2013 32-bit.

We use it in house and it works fine...

Well, it's not supported on Office 2013 until this Monday and 1.60!

Having said that, I have had a few tussles with in on Office 2007 and 2010 also.

What I have found is that as Peter said you need that pre-requisite installed. Also, install as a user with local admin rights. On a couple of occasions I've had to manually add the 'Add-Ins' option into the Ribbon bar as as well.

Having recently upgraded to Excel 2013 I was keen to upgrade my XRL to v1.60. All went well until I tried to create a designer report with subtotals. Continuous error 1004 and the result was a report not displaying correctly although a worksheet recalculate would be OK. I logged a call with Pegasus who asked me to test further and then give them the steps to recreate the error, which I did this morning.

To cut a long story short I have found that using Excel 2013 and XRL v1.60 you cannot have subtotals and expand controls ticked on - together. It's a case of one or other but not both.

I suppose I will eventually upgrade my XRL at work to 1.60 where I have Excel 2010 installed and do some further testing....
