Crystal Reports with BaanIVc4
Legacy Contributor
I would like some information on Crystal reports from a technical and user perspective.
Is this a user friendly type product or is is based more for IT support to provide for an end user?
Is there documentation anywhere on using this with BaanIV?

We use it with 5c. Reports can be pushed from baan to get a nice layout. Standalone reports can be developed and be deployed in crystal enterprise.
Development is not always easy to do, don't recommend this to end-users.
Crystal Enterprise is usefull for users, they can find their reports, schedule it (can cause a performance degradation).

We use Crystal Reports 11 & Enterprise with Baan IVc4. It is not really an end user product, but this is more due to the need to know the relationship between the Baan tables and the field names rather than Crystal itself. Crystal reports is very sophisticated with its formatting and other functionality however if you are using or are heading towards MS SQL 2005/2008 then the built in reporting services may provide enough functionality as well as providing some good integration with MS products for analysing the data. I am currently migrating to LN and SQL 2005 and will be investigating if the reporting services will be of use to us.

Thanks for the info!

We use Crystal reports with 5c and Ln. We would be interested in setting a register of reports that exist. We have approximately 200 crystal reports. Note we use Crystal version 9.
