We have a machine that has a cycle time of 8 hours, each time that machine is ran we incur a cost of $180. For estimation purposes we are using HRS/LOAD to get to our total scheduled time and total cost (dividing out the 180 across the 8 hours). The work order makes a variable quantity of parts each time that it is used.
However, production does not have one person clock in and stand in front of the machine for 8 hours, they clock in to load/unload and clock out to go do other things while it cooks.
Has anyone found a better work around for a "Cost per Load"?
