GTINs to Epic

We just implemented Infor (v10) in April and will be going live on Epic October 1. We need to add GTINs for the purpose of interfacing them back to Epic. The Epic team has supplied us with a dozen or so GTINs so we can load and test them, but in doing so they supplied 12-digit numbers without check digits and we've had to calculate the check digit in order to get them to add in IC11. We've asked them to provide the complete GTIN (with check digit) but they've told us they don't have a way to do so, and that Epic can't handle the check digit anyway.

Is anyone else out there interfacing GTIN to Epic, and if so, in what format? And are you having to calculate the check digits yourself? Is there a way to do so en masse? And, can Epic actually handle a check digit if we were to provide one?

We're sending GTIN-14 (13 digits plus check digit) in our interface. The Epic team hasn't told me that they couldn't handle the full 14 digits. I would think it shouldn't matter as long as the field has enough characters. Attached is a Excel file for calculating the check digit on for GTINs in GTIN-12 format. Just copy and paste your 11 digit GTINs in column A.

As I'm re-reading your post, if Epic gave you GTINs with 12 digits then you have the check digit. It's the 12th digit. GTIN-12 format is 11 digits and the check digit.

Thanks, Jon. IC11 wouldn't accept the 12-digit values that Epic provided, so I ran them through a check digit calculator, which added the 13th digit. I'll need to determine what course to take if they're adamant that the values they're giving me are the full GTIN.

Also, I used your spreadsheet to calculate the check digit for a GTIN that I added using the calculator I found online, and it gave me a different value for the check digit and IC11 isn't accepting it. The value I entered for GTIN-12 is 061399449972 and the spreadsheet calculated 9 as the check digit, making the full GTIN-12 value 0613994499729. The value that I got from the calculator is 0613994499721, which IC11 accepts. Any thoughts?

That spreadsheet is designed to calculate the check digit for GTIN-12 so you enter an 11 digit number in column A and the 12th digit is the check. It looks like you're using GTIN-13. Here's my spreadsheet for GTIN-13.
