Differences with IPA in the Cloud

What are some of the differences when you run IPA in the Cloud?

This is the list of things I have encountered so far:

1. Any IPA with emails need to be uploaded in order to run.

2. The from in all email nodes need to be only one value. It will say it is successful, but the email will not be sent and received if it is different from the one value. I believe the issue is related to what goes through.

I have been trying to work through all of the nodes, and I still have a few more to fix. If there is an article, I would appreciate that.

Hi All - If anyone else has any experience with IPA migrating to the cloud, we'd also like to hear what you've learned. We're migrating to the cloud this coming year and any documentation or helpful tips would be appreciated.

To get around the email limitation, we modified our local hosts file to point the email server name, which doesn't resolve locally, to our local email server's ip address. That way we can use the same configurations, and it works locally and after upload.

You would have to explicitly define your smtp servers using their FQDN and allow the originating host to send email from. As far as differences in the cloud -- you will no longer have the SQL access nodes or db access. I dont believe the syscmd is available either but i think it depends if you are ST/MT.
