Hi everyone,
We received notice today that CenPOS is making a change effective March 1 to enforce specific limitations on characters that can be used in certain fields, including the Invoice #, email addresses, and most importantly the Customer Code which is comprised of the FACTS customer number and the FACTS ship-to number.
These changes will require us to make programming changes, and it could require your customers to change some customer and/or ship-to numbers.
Additionally, some tokens created prior to this change may not be available after this change. Tokens that are impacted are:
- all tokens that are specific to a ship-to - we currently use a double colon as a separator between the customer number and the ship-to number, and the colon will no longer be allowed.
- all tokens for customers if the customer number contains one of the disallowed characters
We are engaging CenPOS to discuss options to change the CustomerCode on existing tokens so that the token doesn't have to be deleted and reentered, and I will keep you posted as we learn what will be available to us.
Fortunately FACTS 9.1 also included the generic data changer, which will help your customers change any customer numbers or ship-to numbers that contain disallowed characters. And we will look into creating some tools that will help identify those that need to be changed.
Thanks for you patience. I will keep you posted on our progress.
Tim
