Our facility is currently tracking serial numbers for its like laptops, monitors, keyboards etc. We have tried both upon receipt and on Issue. It appears that on issue, it's easier to maintain from an inventory perspective, however, we have noticed that for items that are serial tracked on issue, we're only able to scan and pick one item at a time.
So, if an order comes in for 5 monitors, we have to scan the item five times and assign the serial number (done via MSCM)
For those using the serial tracking upon Issue, are you experiencing the same thing? We assume it's just he design of Lawson that forces us to assign a serial number for each individual item.
