No ProgramData entry when installing O3 and PDM on a windows 10 OS PC

Has anyone found when installing O3 (from the network default client install) that the installer completes with no error messages but...

There is no desktop additions
There is no program entries to select from the windows start / apps listing
There is no c:ProgramDataPegasus folder created

We have tested with...

AV disabled
Using both setup.exe or the .MSI (then repeated using 'run as administrator')
Manually create the c:ProgramDataPegasus folder prior to running the installer

Added a desktop shortcut to the opera.exe and user is using O3 with no problems reported to-date.

They also use PDM. Exactly the same results in the local OS for lack of program entries but all correct and working from the O3 client.

Any feedback very welcome.

Hi Andrew,

We came across this issue in Windows 10 after the anniversary update was released. I believe the anniversary update is only supported from version 2.40 onwards. The workaround is to manually create the desktop icons. We did log this with Pegasus.

we have exatcly the same in here with 2.40.11!!! Any news on the resolution? cheers

I raised an incident request and have received a very prompt reply

"we have encountered this as an intermittent issue on some Windows 10 PC, but not often to establish what could cause this. We have an SCR raised and doing analysis on it"

There is a workaround for it:

To get it to successfully run on Windows 10 new install, the paths need to be updated in AppPath.ini and config.fpw

I will test / try this.

This site is running 2.40.10 (119). I'm about to check the windows 10 edition as it may have been updated to the 'anniversary' version?
