I was wondering how to get approvals to be able to comment through email

Assuming you are on a relatively new version of Landmark Process Automation.

Add Reason Codes and Reason Comments to your flow. When you hit approve button in the email, it will open a web browser that will bring up a simple reason code/comment section that needs to be filled in. You can populate your reason code and comment then leverage it by querying PfiMetrics table.

Works from my test system, but approvers in inbasket would also need to populate it when they approve as well.

Please identify which node reason code pop-ups can be added. One of our IPA designers is Product Version: 10.1.1.61.5318 .

Sorry if each step isn't too detailed, but my time is limited.

Step 1 - with a user who has config console access goto Configuration console in the IPA dataarea. Click on "DataAreas" so it's highlight (dont expand it). Here you can add a subject like "ReqApproval" "InvApproval"

Step 2 - from the rich client goto ProcessServerAdministrator > Configuration > Reason Code. Add a new reason code like "Approved" "Rejected" "etc", these need to be linked to the subject you created in step 1

Step 3 - In the IPA Designer, draw a new connection from a user action or double click an existing connector/Action from the general tab on the UA Properties. In the popup, select the Subject and check the "show reason code popup" ... then check if the code or comment is required.

Step 4 - upload your flow. So the answer is any reason codes you have populated popup .. but you need the above configuration. My test system is 10.1.1.62 I believe and I have a working flow using reason codes for sending comments on email approvals.

Do not apologize. Your help is greatly appreciated. We have been looking for just such a feature. I have one in place, but, it is a work around customization. It is okay, but, not great. I will try you guidelines and let you know.

Looks like I will have to open a ticket with Infor. When I try to add an Action Reason, the Subject field has to come from an existing list of Business Subjects. Ours is empty and there is not Create function on that sub-screen.
