We are running Visual 7.1.2 and using EDI with several customers and sites.
Most of the time the system works as intended, the VDI file is imported, and on the hour is ran through VMDIXCHG.exe, it reads the file, generates the CPO####, G, EX, IN, VMDIXCHG, XML files, and an AUTO file, then nicely imports into the system, then it gets moved by a script that looks for the AUTO file. This is how it functions 95% of the time.
5% of the time it will stop processing the VDI file at seemingly random points, not create an AUTO file, and not inform us of any error. It eats the Customer Order number in our system, but does not import the order, and there is no error on the CPO00#G or EX file.
Other times, it doesn't create the AUTO file, and it will continually enter in orders seen on the VDI file. We've had instances where it was running all weekend and have had hundreds of repeated orders.
When looking at the errored orders, there is no variance from what I can tell on any of the parameters or entered variables, the same part numbers and shop to locations from order to order, one just stops.
Has anyone ran into issues like this using EDI? How did you solve them?
