Visual Scheduling Group

I am looking to set up a new Group for Visual that focusses on Scheduling related issues.

Ideally I would first of all like to build a database of ALL schedulers currently in the community.

If your name is listed below, please check that your details are correct, and then lets get talking to each other!

I would also like to ask ALL community members if their company has a primary scheduling contact that would be willing to join this Community.

Our overall goals are to

improve our utilisation of the scheduling functionality in Visual Via Community Led Enhancement Requests,
identify its limitations, and
gather cohesive community support for continuous improvement and development of the scheduling software.

As an example, we are STILL having difficulties getting the "Import/Export forecast" Material Planning option working, and would like to find out if other users have managed to get it to work.

We are also struggling to implement an Unfrozen schedule, mainly due to the way our system and Engineering Masters were setup at implementation.

I've added my Manager Dan Cracknell to the database; he has just requested to join the Infor Xtreme Community.

I am not a scheduler however, I did figure out how to import using excel.

I was going to attach a document I have recently worked up for our folks for importing forecasts from excel but I'm not seeing how to do the attachment here on this site.

I will be interest to be part of this group. We use and Excel file to import forecast. This file have a lot of macro. When we import it, we delete 4 tables related to the forecast. In the Excel file, we use the planning bom to create the forecast. For now, it's working weel.

Update 21/03/18: I've updated the Spreadsheet to include those who have requested to join so far .

Have asked VivianE if she could email me her "Guide to Importing Forecasts" so I can share it here, and asked if she'd like to join.

Had confirmation from Nancy that they too have managed to use Forecast imports...

I have not seen any activity lately referencing the scheduler is this still active? I am looking for some white papers.

Thanks Frank. I sent you an email just a bit ago. I'll mention that we have about 20 workorder/lot combinations that will not schedule either in Concurrent Scheduler or Mfg Window since going to 9.0.8 from 9.0.5. These same workorders scheduled correctly under 9.0.5. It actually just gives us a windows error and shuts down either mfg window or scheduler. No SQL Error or database errors and a trace of the process shows it checking is_rate_based in the part_site table which is exactly what I see when I watch it run in the code. We had a similar issue before where a part did get set to rate based and it would crash immediately on that work order but we have none marked as such. And, with 5100 workorders scheduling, 20 doesn't seem like a lot but they are, of course, really high profile jobs...

We are using Visual Version 9.0.5.10, and have not encountered such problems.

We had no problems under 9.0.5. It started under 9.0.8 on work orders that had scheduled perfectly a week before on 9.0.5. We are Oracle and Single site and that plays into it a little bit, maybe, but not sure.
