SSL support - just FYI

I don't know how many people have just solved this on their own, or haven't run into it yet. What we have found is that on Linux systems (red hat and the like) one of these commands will install what is needed to insure that the new encryption algorothms:
At the # sign, or using sudo from the terminal prompt:
apt-get install libssl-dev
or
yum install libssl-dev
Depending on your flavor of Linux, apt-get, or yum will be installed. And, just to really slay the dragon, if yum isn't installed and you prefer it you can do
apt-get install yum.

I don't understand your last sentence in the first paragraph.

What aspect of the encryption algorithms do these commands insure?

See this link. I am reasonably certain that Infor is using the PVX ssl support for their new encryption. PVX describes what is needed here:
www.pvx.com/.../pvx_opts_incl.htm
Scroll down to the SSL section. The commands that I gave will automatically install the libraries needed if they are not already there (and we regularly find them not to be so in the flavors of linux that we use).
Tim and his team have provided a program that will check and see if you may have this issue. It warns you and gives you an option to proceed or not. If you never see the warning, you don't have to worry. I put up the original post to save people having to scratch around for the right solution.

Thanks for posting this info, Michael. We're going to be installing 7.7 on Linux in the very near future and your info will save us time.
