MsgBuilder node

I've written a detailed SQL Query to pull data from 3 different tables that I want to be able to pull into MsgBuilder. When I try to retrieve a list of variables, I would expect to see all the fields from the query available. I am only seeing data from 1 table. How/where can I pull in other table/fields into MsgBuilder?

I usually assign everything to variables first just in case something changes, it is easier to update there. Additionally, I don't always have luck using the field names when referencing the output from a sql node. Instead, I use the column reference to get the value. (i.e. SQLNode_1 returns column 1, SQLNode_10 returns column 10)

Are you certain all the queries are daisy chained prior to the MSG node? If so, can you send snapshot of the flow?

Is your message builder inside the query node? It needs to be connected between the SQL query and the End-SQL query. If you need to put the message builder outside the query node, place an assign node inside the query node and assign the query values you need to variables there.

If your message builder is inside the query node but you still are not seeing all the query fields you need, run the query node locally and check the output in the IPD console to see what it is returning.

I've run the query and it returns all appropriate information. I just can't find the fields in the list of variables to use in the msgbuilder

Where are you incrementing the array reference? Try adding an Assign node prior to Msgbuilder. Assign variable X, where X starts at 0, increments each loop.

Margo, your flow looks fine. You don't need no stinkin list of fields

Just copy the name of the fields you need from the console output of the query node and paste them into your message builder (e.g. SQLQuery6630_LAST_NAME). If your query has derived fields, you can use the AS stmt in your SQL to give those fields a name and then use that in the message builder (SQLQuery6630_WHATEVER.

Though you are not seeing the variables in the list, can you try to use them in the MsgBuilder using their numbers like BonusQuery_1 or BonusQuery_2, etc.

I've noticed this as well. The columns don't all show up, but they are there and can be referenced either by number _1 etc or by NAME (uppercase on your query field names).

Thanks....that worked perfectly! (I did find that it is case sensitive though)
