Commodity Codes for Finished Goods (Not assigning GL's)

So we are in the midst of a project surrounding Commodity Codes.

 

Current State:

1. We have Finished and Raw Material Codes in the Commodity Code field and we need to separate them
   1. We will use Commodity Codes for the Raw Materials
   2. We need to have a similar functionality field for Finished goods
2. We utilize Product Code for the Overarching Customer Market to assign GL’s into the Market

1. 1. We could sell a product into 2 different markets, and wish to assign the sales in the GL to the Market instead of the Product assignment, this is why this is done in this manner

 

Currently we do not have a concrete answer/response to the Business to provide them with a solution for the additional Finished Good field that we can assign within Part Maintenance that exists across Estimates, Customer Orders, Purchase Orders, and Work Orders.

 

The Field needs to be Constrained to a list, preferably a Typeable Dropdown (like Commodity Code in PM), and populating across the windows.

 

Has anyone ran into this situation before, or implemented a field like this for another
