Important RM Update for 7.7.0 through 7.7.3

Not long after the 7.7.2 incremental update was released, we discovered a display issue with the Contact Display, Note Entry, and Broadcast LIst Entry programs. The information displayed on the main screen which related to the highlighted line item, was not being updated when navigating through the list of line items.

A workaround had been prepared for the 7.7.3 incremental until the issue was resolved by Infor. Infor believed that the coming 7.7.3 incremental had addresed the problem, therefore the workaround was no longer needed. For performance reasons, the workaround was disabled.

We discovered today that the 7.7.3 incremental did not address the issue. The reason is because the issue was due to a 7.7 design change of the 3L Entry driver, not a bug as was previously thought. Unfortunately it was too late to include the resolution in the 7.7.3 incremental. Fortunately, the necessary program changes can be found on the FACTS Mustang Relationship Management Page. This was my mistake. I incorrectly assumed it was a bug I had fixed, and I didn't test it before we cut the incremental as I had meant to do.

The driver change that applied to this issue was when you need a main screen field to be redisplayed when a new line is highlighted in the browser, the line read procedure should set the variable _force_mse_update=1.

Without that variable being set, the main screen fields will not be redisplayed.
