User Channel - Email. I want to trigger a service via email (Start ) but not sure what email server

Has anyone used the User Channel - Email? I want to trigger a service via email (Start <service>) but not sure what email server settings to use or which email address to send the email to? How does this work? Thanks!

Does this work if we use Office365? If so, does that mean its scanning millions of emails looking for the subject line specific to that action??

See the IPA Administration Guide. You setup the User Channel to connect to a given email server via SMTP. It supports TLS. It is reading the email account of a single user, that of your choosing (eg. ipa@mycompany.com), for new email and processing them for specific commands.

Keith, who gets an email when you turn on "Send Help Replies"? We had this on and quite a few people got the help email.

Again, the administration guide should answer this:

"Send Help Replies

Users have the option to receive help replies from the User Channel.

On Request: the system sends a help reply only upon the request of the user. User types "Help" in the subject line of an email and the system returns with a help reply that shows all possible commands that can be used.

For Invalid Commands And On Request: the system sends a help reply upon user request or when user types an incorrect command. The system sends a help reply that shows all possible commands that can be used.

Never: the system does not send any help replies."

This is an option because some administrators might see an email based help function as an aid to a hacker/nefarious user to misuse the feature. However, this can be mitigated by proper use of email system security (for example, rejecting emails from non-company accounts, spoof security, etc.)

What version of Landmark is this available in? We are on 10.1.1.56 and I can't seem to find in the Info Center Documentation or when I search for it in the Rich Client. Thank you.
