CloudSuite Financials Upgrade - GHX

Has anyone that has done the CSF upgrade also with GHX? We are in the process of upgrading and GHX is quoting an absorbent amount of time and dollars for us to upgrade to v11. We are blown away by their estimations of time and tasks for this change.

Background: We have been a GHX customer for many years. We have been transmitting the last 3 years from the AWS cloud on v10 (Infor Cloud Hosted). Our upgrade will mean new servers in the AWS cloud and a move from Single-Tenant to Multi-Tenant.

How is GHX justifying the cost? Aren't they a Lawson Business Partner?

Their explanation was GHX will need to build a new Cloud profile for v11 customers and move from a Cplus to a Cloud connection. They say it will require extensive testing and during this period they'd need to support a dual connection for the old and new.

Infor confirmed that from an EDI standpoint nothing changes on their end.

We are going-live on v11 in the cloud on 1/1/19, and have been working with GHX in getting all our EDI vendors setup - this is a new connection for us (we didn't use GHX directly with our previous ERP/MMIS).

I don't agree with Infor's response - if you're moving from locally-hosted to cloud, a lot will change.

I'm not sure how moving to the cloud affects GHX either. We have the GHX server onsite. Lawson sends the outbound file to the Cplus server, Lawson picks up the inbound file from the Cplus server - unless the map changes why can't this process continue? I fail to understand why GHX needs to move to the cloud.

Stace, I would love to hear more of your experience as you move to CSF v11 multi-tenant. We are currently also on v10 AWS Cloud Single-tenant and I have zero interest at this time of going to multi-tenant, but alas, I am not the decision maker!

Hello. I wanted to provide some feedback/clarification in regards to some of the comments. GHX is not an Infor business partner. GHX is a third party used by many customers for EDI transmissions and other services. In regards to transmitting/receiving EDI documents, Infor’s CSF EDI solution will allow you to send and receive EDI documents to any defined SFTP. There is no requirement from Infor that the GHX server needs to be on premise or in the cloud.

Some notable differences in EDI between v10 and v11 are:

Exchanging data with carriers: in v10, the EDI application exchanges the data; With v11, Infor Process Automation is used to pull and transmit the data with carriers

Processing: v10 is based on directories and files/flat files; v11 processing is based on business classes/data tables and landmark API’s are used to retrieve data within the business classes so there are no flat files and EDI forms are delivered and retrieved from carriers as an x12 document.

Errors: in v10, Errors are identified in the EDI process are sent to and EDI Work folder; With v11, errors are identified at the Translation Business Task and sent to EDI WORK business class for review

The changes made regards EDI from v10 to v11, do not make any significant impact on sending and retrieving data with GHX or any other vendor(s). In regards to the functionality of EDI, v11 EDI retains all the functionality that was available with v10 EDI.
