emailing options with Exchange using Visual v7.1.2 on Terminal Server
egleon
We are upgrading our Visual ERP from v6.4.1 to v7.1.2.
Our ERP systems run on Terminal Server as a published app to consolidate al the installs on 1 place.
We have Exchange 2013 running to support our email needs.
We do not currently use the email functionality, but I would like to introduce this functionality with the new version.
My question is, how to best setup Visual v7.1.2 to send emails. I strongly prefer to send email to Exchange directly vs using MAPI which creates/uses an Outlook profile for each user of the Visual server.
Has anyone in this group done this?
Thanks in advance for any hints, suggestions etc.
Ed

Ed,
I don't know if this helps. we've found the "print to email" functionality works well for users, even in a terminal server setting.

Does the "print to email" process then use an Outlook?
unknown
This is the process I've seen.
1. the user selects "email" as the print type.
2. They check "Print to PDF" if they want to.
3. They press "Print".
4. It opens their outlook, as a blank email with their "print" as an attachment.
5. I know sometimes it can pull in an email, like for invoices or sales orders, but we don't use that enough for me to explain it.
