Copying or Moving File with IPA

Hi,

I was wondering if FTP node or SYS Command node within the IPDesigner can move or copy multiple files at the same time and send via e-mail to an end user.

I actually have a file that sits on our server every 1st of the month and I was looking for a way to effectively copy this files that arrive every month and have that file sent to an EU.

The way that I accomplished this is to ftp the necessary file(s) to the emailattachments folder on the Landmark server. The directory path for us is /app/<prodline>/system/LPS/emailattachments. Once the files are in that directory, you can use the email node under the Attachments tab list the names of the attachments. Because the filenames change, I assign the file to a variable name.

I'm not sure if it works in IPA 10, but in 11 I am able to save the full path and file name (ex: "D: empTestFile.txt") as a variable and use that on the Attachment Tab of the Email node. Seperated by a comma, I can send multiple files.

We have version 10. We found that you can save the attachment path and file name in a variable, but to get the email node to resolve correctly, find the file, and send it, we have to use the fully qualified path and escape the backslashes, e.g.

\\d10lsf\mainframeftpfiles\IPACrystalRpts\ ...plus the filename.

We our most commonly used paths entered as Properties in our Main configuration set, and we use the property as a global variable.

In Landmark v11; the FTP Activity Node can handle moving multiple files.

NOTE: The use of UNC share drives to reference a file can be the cause of some issues. We've seen several clients have intermittent problems when using \LSFSERVERpath ofile. The solution in those scenarios has been to manually log into the system and re-establish the connection by navigating to that folder.

*** I believe it's primarily been cloud customers that have encountered this problem, but I though it would be worth mentioning.
