Error 1720 uninstalling and installing XRL
stuart-craig
Just wondering if anyone can help, we have one site where we are constantly getting error 1720 when trying to uninstall and then reinstall XRL.
We have gone through the information Pegasus have sent us but still not working. We have run a routine to uninstall and make sure XRL is off the pc but that has made no difference.
The pc is Windows 7 SP1 (32bit), we were trying to uninstall version 1.45 and reinstall 1.47.
The error is 1720, installer package failed to install because a script couldn't run.
Other applications including Opera 3 client have installed all ok.
Any advice gratefully receive.

Hi Debbie,
We're had it loads and we have found that when un-installing XRL you have to tick the option to remove the serducts then it always seems to work!
You're probably had this already from Pegasus but just thought it was worth mentioning.

Are you logged in as a user with admin rights?
Did you create the XRL folder and apply full permissions before starting the install ?
Is their AV software blocking scripts ?
unknown
As Sharon mentions, ensure the remove serducts option is used during uninstall. We've experienced one anomaly where even this didn't prevent the 1720 (without AV running) & by trial+error we discovered the "Update Serducts" (XRL's program group) option after installation fixed the install.

Thanks for responses. The error appears within 5 seconds of the setup starting, that is on the uninstall and install. The user has full admin rights and we have disabled UAC but this has made no difference.

I am getting the same issue trying to install XRL on Win 7 PC
Install runs through and I think it fails with Error 1720 at the point of registering .dll's etc.
Have got Full admin rights (so I'm told) Have uninstalled completely and tried again - even cleaned up the registry.
Update serducts just comes up with !No update available
