Start Date Change Processing between TA and GHR

Hello,

We have a high volume of start date changes at our organization and have on going issues with the fact that it is difficult to update start dates in both TA on the Define Offer and in GHR on the resource record once the TA hire/rehire/transfer/promote action is processed into GHR. We will generally update the start/effective date in GHR but are unable to edit the TA Define Offer at this point which impacts our accuracy of reporting in the TA module if we can never correct the start date there.

How are other organizations handling start date changes between TA & GHR via process or config console/IPA?

We have the same issue. Currently for Transition Management task have added the columns on the tasks for due date and reminder date and made them where they can be edited so they can at least changes those dates for when we start sending reminders out for tasks.

I would be interested in knowing how others are handling this as well.

if i understand correctly - you're saying the define offer has start date 1.1.23 but within the process towards the end someone can update that to be start date of 2.1.23 where as the final process updates the start date for the employee business class but never goes back to the define offer to update the start date there in the Job Application business class?

my response was only for the Transition Management tasks assigned upon offer accepted.

We need a way to change the employee start date after offer is accepted

Yes that is correct - the define offer could be 1.1.23 and we hire them into GHR with the 1.1.23 start date but there could be a start date change to 2.1.23 after it's been approved in GHR. We are able to update the start date on the resource record on the employee business class in GHR. But once the GHR action is processed, the Define Offer in TA becomes un-editable even to admin users and we cannot update the Define Offer start date (JobApplication.EmploymentStartDate) to match and it will remain 1.1.23 which no longer matches the employee business class record in GHR.

Can you describe how you date the GHR date? We have a similar process from the description you provide. When there are changes to the start date, how are those changes made on the GHR record?

We have this same issue. We created a new security class to allow the recruiter to edit the Offer card on the Hiring Process tab and they can only update the EmploymentStartDate once that action form has been submitted. For GHR we update on the resource record like how you stated.

Thank you so much for the response - to clarify, when you created a new security class does that allow the recruiter to edit the offer card on the Hiring Process tab after the GHR hire action form has been approved? I know today admins cannot even update the offer card once the hire is approved and this would be a great workaround if it lets you to continue to edit the offer card.

Yes, it would allow the recruiter to update the offer card after the action form has been submitted. We limited ours to only be able to change the EmploymentStartDate. I have Admin access and I can do that function too. You are not able to do it with Admin role?

No, we've been live with TA for almost 4 years and even admin security role users have never been able to update the EmploymentStartDate on the Offer Card once the GHR action is approved. This has been a major pain point for us. I'll definitely be exploring this option with our IT group. Thank you so much!
